Accessibility and Adaptive Sport Commitment

The Sport Jiu-Jitsu Canadian Association and Federation (SJJCANF) believes that sport should be accessible and welcoming to all individuals, including persons with disabilities.

We are committed to promoting inclusive participation and reducing barriers that may limit access to the sport of jiu-jitsu. SJJCANF works to foster environments where athletes of all abilities can participate in ways that support safety, dignity, and personal development.

Our commitment includes:

  • Encouraging accessible participation opportunities within jiu-jitsu programs and events

  • Supporting inclusive training environments that consider a range of abilities and needs

  • Promoting awareness and education related to accessible and inclusive sport practices

  • Working with clubs, coaches, and partners to reduce barriers to participation wherever possible

  • Continuing to learn and adapt policies and practices to better support inclusive sport participation

SJJCANF recognizes that accessible sport strengthens communities and helps ensure that jiu-jitsu in Canada remains a sport where everyone has the opportunity to participate and succeed.
