WHO WE ARE
The Sport Jiu-Jitsu Canada Federation (SJJCANF) is the Sport Jiu-Jitsu International Federation (SJJIF)-recognized National Sport Organization (NSO) for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Canada.
Established in January 2025, the SJJCANF is a non-profit organization dedicated to the growth, development, and regulation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions across Canada. Working in close collaboration with our international partners within the SJJIF, our mission is to provide a structured, fair, and competitive platform for athletes of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for practitioners to showcase their talents.
As Canada’s national governing body for the amateur sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the SJJCANF focuses on fostering high-level competition while upholding the core values of discipline, respect, and sportsmanship. The federation is committed to hosting premier national and provincial-level tournaments, delivering comprehensive athlete development programs, and establishing clear ranking and qualification structures that recognize excellence and support long-term athlete progression.
Through strong governance, international partnerships, and community engagement, the SJJCANF aims to elevate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Canada to international prominence. Our vision is to create meaningful pathways for Canadian athletes to compete at the highest levels of the amateur sport, with a long-term objective of supporting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s inclusion in the Olympic Games as an official discipline.
