SJJIF Individual Ranking
SJJIF Ranking is how the SJJIF ranks the top competitors in the sport.
The SJJIF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship is the final competition for SJJIF rankings.
Individual competitor ranking is based and divided by the individual’s belt and age group
Guidelines for individual ranking are as follows:
Ranking points will not be transferred from one belt rank to another
Ranking points will not be transferred from one age division to another
Ranking points are divided between:
GI and No GI events
Gender
Belt
Age Group
Individual Ranking is based on the following points system and will be calculated as follows:
One-man bracket - Competitor will receive 1st place medal, 7 points for rank individual and no points towards team points or ranking.
Bracket of 2 with two competitors from the same team – Competitor will receive medal but no points towards team points or ranking
Tied Ranking criteria:
If there is a draw in scores, the winner will be decided by:
1st World title
2nd Quantity of Gold Medals 3rd Quantity of Silver Medals 4th Quantity of Bronze Medals 5th Number of Victories
6th Number of Submissions
SJJIF National, Professor, and Team Ranking
SJJIF Ranking is how the SJJIF ranks the top nation, professor, and team in the sport and must follow the following guidelines:
Competitors are required to identify their nation, team, and professor at registration so that tournament organizers can keep accurate records.
All Athletes who register giving the same name for nation, team, and professor will contribute to the respective SJJIF ranking.
No athlete or coach may change the nation, team, or professor they are registered for after the check date has passed or previous event.
The SJJIF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship is the final competition for SJJIF rankings.
National Ranking is based on the accumulation of all Gold, Silver and Bronze medals earned by all competitors representing that particular country in all SJJIF sanctioned tournaments during the period of one SJJIF competition year.
Professor Ranking is based on the accumulation of all Gold, Silver and Bronze medals earned by all competitors registered under that particular professor in all SJJIF sanctioned tournaments
Team Ranking is based on the accumulation of all Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals earned by all competitors representing that particular team in all SJJIF sanctioned tournaments during the period of one SJJIF competition year and will be determined by the following guidelines:
Kid Team Points – for all divisions from Kid 1 through Kid 6
Adult Team Points – for all divisions including Juvenile 16-17, Adult 18, and Master 30 through Master 61
SJJIF Accumulative Ranking
The Accumulative Rank will compute all your previous points from all previous SJJIF Rank
100% from all points from the current year SJJIF Rank will be added to your Accumulative Rank
50% from all points from the last year SJJIF Rank will be added to your Accumulative Rank
25% from all points from prior SJJIF Rank will be added to your Accumulative Rank
All previous years 10%
