Its official - Canada now has a recognized national organization for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

In September 2025, the Sport Jiu-Jitsu Canada Federation (SJJ CANF) was formally established and recognized by the Sport Jiu-Jitsu International Federation (SJJIF). This marks a historic milestone for the sport in Canada, as SJJ CANF becomes the sole nationally recognized governing body for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the country.
The recognition affirms Canada’s role within the international jiu-jitsu community and supports our mission to grow, develop, and unify Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at all levels — from grassroots clubs to elite competition.
We look forward to advancing opportunities for athletes, coaches, officials, and fans across the nation.
