Indigenous Sport Commitment

The Sport Jiu-Jitsu Canadian Association and Federation (SJJCANF) recognizes the important role sport can play in supporting community connection, cultural pride, and equitable opportunity.

SJJCANF is committed to:

  • Supporting inclusive pathways for Indigenous athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers within the sport of jiu-jitsu in Canada

  • Promoting safe, respectful, and culturally aware sport environments for Indigenous participants

  • Encouraging representation and leadership opportunities for Indigenous individuals within the sport community

  • Building relationships with Indigenous communities and partners where opportunities arise

  • Aligning our policies and practices with the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation in Canadian sport

SJJCANF recognizes that reconciliation is an ongoing process and remains committed to learning, listening, and working collaboratively to strengthen inclusion in sport for Indigenous Peoples.
