Land Acknowledgement
The Sport Jiu-Jitsu Canadian Association and Federation (SJJCANF) acknowledges that our activities take place across the traditional and ancestral lands of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples, who have stewarded these lands since time immemorial.
We recognize the enduring relationship Indigenous Peoples have with the lands, waters, and communities throughout what is now known as Canada. Indigenous cultures, knowledge systems, and traditions continue to shape and strengthen the social and cultural fabric of this country.
SJJCANF acknowledges the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization and recognizes the importance of advancing truth, respect, and reconciliation. We affirm the importance of creating sport environments where Indigenous athletes, coaches, officials, and leaders feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
Through our work in sport, SJJCANF is committed to fostering a culture grounded in equity, inclusion, respect, and meaningful participation for Indigenous Peoples across Canada.
