Celebrating Women in Canadian Sport Jiu-Jitsu: International Women’s Day 2026

International Women’s Day – Celebrating Strength, Leadership, and Legacy

Today, the Sport Jiu-Jitsu Canada Federation (SJJCANF) proudly celebrates International Women’s Day and the incredible women who continue to shape our sport.

From athletes stepping onto the competition mats, to coaches mentoring the next generation, to officials, volunteers, and leaders working behind the scenes — women are helping build a stronger and more inclusive future for sport jiu-jitsu in Canada.

Through mentorship, leadership, and example, today’s women in our community are setting the path for the next generation of girls who will follow. Every time a woman steps onto the mat, competes, coaches, or represents our country, she shows young athletes what is possible.

The power of representing Canada on the international stage goes beyond medals — it inspires confidence, pride, and ambition in young women across the country who dream of one day wearing the maple leaf themselves.

Your resilience, discipline, and courage continue to grow our sport and strengthen our community.

Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we support them. May we be them.

Happy International Women’s Day from all of us at SJJCANF.
